Regular Season Round 7: PGE Turow - Anwil 97-89

TBL top team - PGE Turow (7-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Anwil (1-6) in Zgorzelec 97-89. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-13. But Anwil won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PGE Turow made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Anwil was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Michal Chylinski (196-86, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points. American guard Mardy Collins (198-84, college: Temple) helped adding 12 points and 8 assists. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American swingman Chase Simon (198-89, college: Detroit Mercy) responded with 20 points and 5 steals and the other American import guard Deonta Vaughn (185-86, college: Cincinnati) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. PGE Turow have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record, which they share with Slask Wroclaw. Anwil at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Stabill Jezioro and MKS DG. PGE Turow will play against Wikana Start (#12) in Lublin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Anwil will play at home against Stelmet to get more than just one victory in their record.
