Regular Season Round 7: Hapoel T-A - Bnei Hertzeliyya 77-92
Date: November 16, 2014
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (3-4) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Bnei Hasharon (3-4) 92-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Bnei Hasharon. Hapoel Tel-Aviv was better in fourth quarter 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American point guard Josh Selby (188-91, college: Kansas) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 4 steals. Forward Oz Blayzer (199-92) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American power forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) responded with 21 points and American-Jamaican swingman Durand Scott (196-90, college: Miami, FL) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Five Bnei Hasharon and four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hapoel T-A and Maccabi Haifa. Bnei Hasharon will face Galil Gilboa (#9) in Rosh Pina in the next round.
