Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Orvieto (2-6) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Battipaglia (4-4) 70-59 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Battipaglia. Orvieto managed to win second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Battipaglia forced 21 Orvieto turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American swingman Brooque Williams (175-89, college: California, PA, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Orvieto's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Battipaglia maintains eighth position with 4-4 record. Loser Orvieto dropped to the eleventh place with six games lost. Battipaglia will meet higher ranked Umbertide (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Orvieto will play against Vigarano (#14) and hope to secure a win.
