Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Fukushima and 10th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. had identical 3-10 record. But Tokyo Cinq R. was not able to use a home court advantage and was outplayed by the opponent from Fukushima 87-56 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Fukushima led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Fukushima forced 19 Tokyo Cinq R. turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Masaya Karimata (178-88) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists. American guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. American center Will Foster (226-88, college: Gonzaga) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and his fellow American import forward Chris Brown (198-83, college: Georgia SW) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima (4-10) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Yokohama BC. Tokyo Cinq R. lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Fukushima will face higher ranked Osaka Evessa (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
