Everything could happen in Verona at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Alpo VR and 7th ranked Virtus Cagliari had identical 2-4 record. This time Alpo VR used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Cagliari 75-50 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Alpo VR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Alpo VR forced 19 Virtus Cagliari turnovers and outrebounded them 50-30 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Maria Zanella (174-92) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Chiara Terenzi (190-93) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Alpo VR's coach Nicola Soave felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Sara Innocenti (170-92) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Angela Dettori (182-96) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Newly promoted Alpo VR maintains sixth position in A2 with 3-4 record. Loser Virtus Cagliari dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Alpo VR will face Muggia (#9) on the road in the next round. Virtus Cagliari will play against Albino and hope to win that game.
