Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Andratx (3-1) edged on the road 12th ranked UCAM Jairis (1-3) 65-64 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 21-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Paraguayan point guard Maria Mercado (163-89) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian power forward Nina Djokovic (184-87, college: Bethel, TN) who added 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Andratx players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Isabel Perez (188-90) responded with 10 points and 4 assists and guard Maria V. Sanchez (174-87) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. UCAM Jairis' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Andratx moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with CREF Hola and Dist.Olimpico. UCAM Jairis at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Andratx will face Dist.Olimpico (#5) in Madrid in the next round. UCAM Jairis will play on the road against CREF Hola in Madrid and hope to win that game.
