Regular Season Round 7: Jiangsu D. - Shanxi Zh. 106-99

There was an upset in Nanjing where higher ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (4-3) was defeated by fifteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (3-4) 106-99 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 49-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Jiangsu Dragons forced 21 Shanxi Zhongyu turnovers. Shanxi Zhongyu was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Chris Singleton (206-89, college: Florida St.) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: Florida St.) chipped in 23 points and 4 steals. Forward Jeremy Tyler (208-91, college: Louisville) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds and guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) added 21 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Shanxi Zhongyu keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face higher ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (#3) in Urumqi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
