Regular Season Round 8: Latina Basket - Treviglio 89-92
Date: November 16, 2014
A very interesting game took place in Latina. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 13th ranked Latina Basket (3-5) to eighth ranked Treviglio (5-3) 92-89 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It looked good early as Latina Basket took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Treviglio had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and Latina Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-92. The winners were led by guard Tommaso Marino (192-86) who scored that evening 28 points and power forward Raphael Gaspardo (206-93) supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 31 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by naturalized American guard Michael Nardi (186-85, college: Villanova) did not help to save the game for Latina Basket. Naturalized Nigerian forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86) added 19 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Treviglio moved-up to third place, which they share with Recanati. Latina Basket lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Treviglio's next round opponent will be league's leader Treviso Basket at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Latina Basket will play against Omegna (#5) and hope to win that game.
