Regular Season Round 7: Qingdao E. - Guangsha L. 96-99

The most exciting game of round 7 in the CBA took place in Qingdao. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Qingdao Eagles (4-2) to eighth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (5-2) 99-96 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Qingdao Eagles. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 blocks and American point guard Justin Dentmon (183-85, college: Washington, agency: Comsport) added 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Four Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and five Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions moved-up to fifth place, which they share with DongGuan L. Qingdao Eagles at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions is looking forward to face Fujian (#15) in Jinjiang in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Qingdao Eagles will play on the road against the league's second-placed Beijing Ducks (#2) and are hoping to win this game.
