The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Maquinaria Ensino as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A. Maquinaria Ensino smashed 4th ranked ADBA in Lugo 72-46. The game was mostly controlled by Maquinaria Ensino. ADBA managed to win fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ADBA to just 7 points in third quarter. Maquinaria Ensino dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to ADBA's 26. Maquinaria Ensino forced 20 ADBA turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Mireia Navarrete (184-80) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and American center Kendra Suttles (185-91, college: Oklahoma St.) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Lara Fernandez (180-87) responded with 9 points and 5 rebounds and American center Daphnee Frieson (193-88, college: Stetson, agency: Gamble Sports Management) scored 4 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maquinaria Ensino have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Ibaizabal. ADBA at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. ADBA will play next round against Aros Leon trying to get back on the winning streak. Maquinaria Ensino will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Oviedo on the road.
