Regular Season Round 8: Manital Torino - Fileni BPA Jesi 94-87

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Manital Torino (5-3) defeated at home bottom-ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (1-7) 94-87. It looked good early as Fileni BPA Jesi took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Manital Torino took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. They made 19-of-20 charity shots (95.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Valerio Amoroso (204-80) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international point guard Jacopo Giachetti (190-83) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Ivan Elliott (203-86, college: UCSB) produced 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import guard Ian Miller (190-91, college: Florida St., agency: Two Points) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Manital Torino moved-up to third place, which they share with Novipiu Casale and Agrigento. Fileni BPA Jesi at the other side stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Manital Torino's next round opponent will be Mantovana (#7) in Mirandola. Fileni BPA Jesi will play at home against CZG Veroli (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
