Regular Season Round 5: Fujitsu RW - Mitsubishi K. 75-57

There was no surprise in Kawasaki where 5th ranked Mitsubishi K. (2-2) was defeated by third ranked Fujitsu RW (4-1) 75-57 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-57. The best player for the winners was international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) chipped in 16 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Fujitsu RW's coach BT Toews used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. International swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) produced 11 points and 6 rebounds and international center Chao Asako (189-87) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fujitsu RW. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyota B SR. Loser Mitsubishi K. dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with JX-Eneos S.. Fujitsu RW is looking forward to face Niigata R. (#9) in Tokyo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mitsubishi K. will play at home against the league's leader Denso Iris and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
