Regular Season Round 8: Legnano - Chieti 64-60

There was a minor upset in Castellanza where higher ranked Chieti (4-4) was defeated by tenth ranked Legnano (4-4) 64-60 on Sunday. Chieti trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 22-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 60-64 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American-Gambian forward Ousman Krubally (201-88, college: Georgia St.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. The former international point guard Fabio Di Bella (187-78) chipped in 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Center Andrea Ancellotti (212-88) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and guard Matteo Palermo (190-91) added 13 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Legnano moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Chieti. Legnano will face Reggio Calabr. (#9) in Reggio Calabria in the next round. Chieti will play on the road against Piacentina (#16) in Piacenza and hope to win that game.
