Regular Season Round 15: Sundsvall - Jamtland 99-98

Eleventh-ranked KFUM Jamtland (2-10) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Sundsvall Dragons (7-4) on Tuesday. Sundsvall Dragons managed to secure only one-point victory 99-98. However their fans expected much easier game. KFUM Jamtland was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Sundsvall Dragons made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American swingman Akeem Wright (200-84, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Icelandic forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) helped adding 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Wright is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American center Trevor Gruis (208-91, college: S.Dakota) with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and international point guard Andreas Person (190-91) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Sundsvall Dragons and five KFUM Jamtland players scored in double figures. Sundsvall Dragons have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 7-4 record. Loser KFUM Jamtland stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Sundsvall Dragons will again meet bottom-ranked KFUM Jamtland (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. KFUM Jamtland will have a break next round.
