Regular Season Round 7: Henan - Heilongjiang 68-64

Henan can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Heilongjiang Chenneng (1-6) 68-64 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Henan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Henan forced 19 Heilongjiang Chenneng turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Tianna Hawkins (191-91, college: Maryland) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Jie Sun (183-91) helped adding 18 points. Four Henan players scored in double figures. At the losing side French center Isabelle Yacoubou (190-86, agency: Comsport) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard YanYan Ji (182-85) scored 20 points. Henan left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Heilongjiang Chenneng. It was Heilongjiang Chenneng's fifth loss in a row. Henan will meet league's leader Shanxi Rui Flame in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Heilongjiang Chenneng will play against Beijing Great Wall (#3) and hope to win that game.
