Very predictable result in Stockholm where fifth ranked Alvik Basket (5-3) defeated 11th ranked Akropol (1-7) 63-56 on Wednesday. Alvik Basket forced 22 Akropol turnovers and outrebounded them 54-28 including a 27-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Shawnice Wilson (198-90, college: Miami, FL, agency: Merit Management Group) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds. Power forward Josefine Loob (184-90) chipped in 9 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Alvik Basket's coach Francisco Pinto used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Guard Ozlem Alkan (174-90) produced 12 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Nina Baresso (170-75) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Alvik Basket moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Mark Basket. Akropol lost sixth consecutive game. Akropol at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Alvik Basket will meet Mark Basket (#5) in the next round. Akropol will play against Sallen (#3) and hope to win that game.
