Regular Season Round 8: Sichuan BW - Bayi R. 107-110

Bayi Rockets' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after seven consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Sichuan, where they edged Sichuan BW (2-6) 110-107 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. Bayi Rockets made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. The winners were led by forward Yuchen Zou (197-96) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and international swingman Bo Zhang (199-89) supported him with 21 points. Bayi Rockets' coach Chang Bin Adijan used entire bench in such tough game. Even 25 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by center XiaoDong Chen (207-86) did not help to save the game for Sichuan BW. Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) added 27 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bayi Rockets (1-7) left bottom position moving up to eighteenth place, which they share with Jiangsu TX and Chongqing FD. It was Sichuan BW's third loss in a row. They dropped to the fifteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Fujian QB and Shanghai S.. Bayi Rockets will meet Chongqing FD (#18) in the next round. Sichuan BW will play against Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
