Regular Season Round 9: AZS AWF K-ce - Alba Chorzow 70-63

An interesting game for AZS AWF K-ce (7-1) which hosted in Katowice 4th placed Alba Chorzow (5-3). First ranked AZS AWF K-ce managed to get a 7-point victory 70-63. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Alba Chorzow. The hosts were already 15 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 19-11 Alba Chorzow's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 70-63 at the end of the game. Lukasz Grzegorzewski (190-84) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 assists for the winners and forward Kamil Nowak (197-88) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward Marcin Weselak (204-79) with 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Lukasz Wojcik (189-84) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS AWF K-ce maintains first place in Group C with 7-1 record. Alba Chorzow at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Mickiewicz. AZS AWF K-ce will play against Pogon RS (#8) in Ruda Slaska in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alba Chorzow will play on the road against Cieszyn (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
