Regular Season Round 4: Qazvin - Azad 72-71

The most surprising game was the first loss of Azad (3-1) on the court of sixth ranked Qazvin on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by Qazvin 72-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Azad. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 21-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Qazvin forced 29 Azad turnovers. 30 personal fouls committed by Azad helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Vahid Eslami (197) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 6 rebounds. International Reza Ranjbar contributed with 7 points and 4 steals for the winners. Qazvin's coach Mohammed Reza Eslami used entire bench in such tough game. International Mohammad Hassanzadeh (203-90) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Hamed Hosseinzadeh (187-87) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Azad. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Qazvin (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fifth place. Azad at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. Qazvin are looking forward to face league's leader Mahram in Tehran in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Azad will play against Naft Abadan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
