Regular Season Round 6: IA - FSU 77-88

Date: November 20, 2014
The game in Akranes was also worth to mention about. Third ranked FSU (4-1) played at the court of 5th ranked IA (3-3). FSU defeated IA 88-77. IA was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 47-35 second half run of FSU. It was a good game for American forward Collin Pryor (198, college: Northern St.) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Ari Gylfason (186-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four FSU players scored in double figures. The former international center Fannar Helgason (202-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Jamarco Warren (180-88, college: Charleston So.) added 29 points in the effort for IA. IA's coach Askell Jonsson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. FSU have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 4-1 record behind leader Hamar. IA at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. FSU's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Thor AK (#8) in Akureyri where they are favorite. IA will play on the road against the league's second-placed Hottur (#2) in Egilsstadir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
