Regular Season Round 17: Titanicos - Huracanes 89-72

The game between third ranked Huracanes (10-5) and thirteenth ranked Titanicos (5-11) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Huracanes were defeated by Titanicos on the road 89-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Huracanes. They outrebounded Huracanes 48-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. Titanicos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Isaiah Wilkerson (190-90, college: NJIT) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists. Senegalese center Babacar Camara (211-81, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Titanicos players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Titanicos moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Gigantes. Huracanes at the other side keep the third position with five games lost. Titanicos is looking forward to face higher ranked Correcaminos (#8) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Huracanes will play on the road against Abejas (#10) in Guanajuato and are hoping to win this game.
