Regular Season Round 6: Uberlandia - Flamengo 101-98

A very interesting game took place in Uberlandia. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Flamengo (3-2) to thirteenth ranked Unitri (2-2) 101-98 on Thursday evening. Flamengo was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 55-44 second half run of Unitri. They also forced 26 Flamengo turnovers. Strangely Flamengo outrebounded Unitri 36-23 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American point guard Caleb Brown (183-89, college: Austin Peay St.) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 4 assists. The other American import forward O'Neal Mims (208-83, college: Angelo St.) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American center Jerome Meyinsse (206-88, college: Virginia) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Argentinian-Spanish forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Flamengo. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Unitri moved-up to eleventh place. Defending champion Flamengo dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Unitri's next round opponent will be higher ranked Paulistano (#4) in Sao Paolo and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
