Regular Season Round 6: Borisfen - Impuls BGUIR 76-71

There was no surprise in Mogilev where 7th ranked Impuls BGUIR (2-3) was defeated by fifth ranked Borisfen (4-2) 76-71 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Impuls BGUIR won third quarter 20-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Borisfen made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Evgeni Sugonyako (199-92) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Alexander Harkevich (186-86) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Borisfen players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Henadziy Zahar (198-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Yaraslau Kurapau (200-91) added 27 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Borisfen moved-up to fourth place. Loser Impuls BGUIR dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Borisfen will face Rubon (#5) in Vitebsk in the next round. Impuls BGUIR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena BGU Minsk.
