Third-ranked Toyota Alvark (7-7) made lots of trouble for first ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (13-1) in Tokyo on Friday. The visitors managed to secure only nine-point victory 107-98. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 22-21 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 3-point victory in double-overtime. Toyota Alvark was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
