There was a minor upset in Vitoria-Gasteiz where higher ranked Araski AES (2-3) was edged by ninth ranked Cafe Barco (2-3) 55-52 on Friday. Araski AES was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was guard Regina Gomez (173-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Brazilian guard Larisse Lima (177-88) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Senegalese guard Oumoul Thiam (182-90, college: S.Nazarene) produced 16 points and Nigerian center Justina Udenze (189-89, college: Cent.Conn.St.) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Cafe Barco moved-up to sixth place in Group A, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Araski AES. Cafe Barco will face league's second-placed Ibaizabal in Galdakao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
