Regular Season Round 9: Sichuan BW - Zhejiang CB 126-112

There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Sichuan BW (3-6) won against at home 14th ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (3-6) 126-112. Sichuan BW made 46-of-56 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Sichuan BW outrebounded Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank 58-46 including 19 on the offensive glass. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank was plagued by 41 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Metta World Peace (201-79, college: St.John's) nailed a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) accounted for 27 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) came up with 44 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import center Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) added 25 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sichuan BW moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Zhejiang CB. Sichuan BW will play against higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#4) in Hangzhou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play on the road against Chongqing FD (#19) in Guangzhou and hopes to get back on the winning track.
