Regular Season Round 7: Thor Thorl - Skallagrimur 100-90

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Skallagrimur (1-6) lost to eighth ranked Thor Thorl (4-3) in Thorlakshofn 90-100 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Thor Thorl. Skallagrimur managed to win fourth quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Thor Thorl looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Skallagrimur's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Vincent Sanford (190-90, college: Dayton, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian-Canadian forward Nemanja Sovic (198-77, college: Pfeiffer) contributed with 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Thor Thorl players scored in double figures. American forward Tracey Smith (203-89, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and point guard Arnar Bjornsson (180-93) added 25 points in the effort for Skallagrimur. Thor Thorl moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Skallagrimur at the other side dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Fjolnir. Thor Thorl is looking forward to face Stjarnan (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Skallagrimur will play against the league's leader KR (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
