There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Marin (3-4) smashed at home higher ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (4-4) 80-60 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was Jamaican-American guard Garfield Blair (196-87, college: Stetson) who scored 19 points. American-Nigerian forward Ike Azotam (201-91, college: Quinnipiac) chipped in 16 points. Four Marin players scored in double figures. American-Jamaican center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Alejandro Marin (190-88) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Marin moved-up to ninth place, which they share with CB Tarragona. Loser Fontedoso Carrefour dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Marin will face FC Barcelona II (#11) on the road in the next round.
