Regular Season Round 17: Boca Jrs - Obras 76-88
Date: November 22, 2014
Very expected game in Buenos Aires where 5th ranked Boca Juniors (6-8) was defeated by first ranked Obras (11-4) 88-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Obras. Boca Juniors was better in third quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Obras especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. American-Puerto Rican Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) stepped up and scored 21 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and international center Marcos Delia (209-92) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Obras players scored in double figures. The former international forward Matias Sandes (201-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Fabian Ramirez (193-90) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Boca Juniors' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Obras. They maintain first place with 11-4 record. Boca Juniors at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Obras will face Argentino (#4) in Junin in the next round. Boca Juniors will play on the road against Penarol in Mar del Plata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
