Regular Season Round 5: Sant Adria - IF Air Europa 79-63

Everything went according to plan when leader Sant Adria (5-0) won against at home 6th ranked IF Air Europa (2-3) 79-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sant Adria. IF Air Europa was better in third quarter 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sant Adria shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Mariona Martin (169-96) who scored 15 points and 7 assists. Ainhoa Lopez (180-97) chipped in 16 points. Sant Adria's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Lithuanian forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) produced 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Isabel Vila (187-92) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sant Adria. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Alcobendas. IF Air Europa lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth place with three games lost. Sant Adria will face Segle XXI (#8) in Barcelona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. IF Air Europa will play at home against ASEFA Estudiantes and hope to win that game.
