Very important is a road loss of third ranked Mark Basket (5-3) against fourth ranked Sallen (6-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Mark Basket was crushed by Sallen in Uppsala 86-50. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mark Basket. The game without a history. Sallen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 22 Mark Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 49-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sallen players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by the former international forward Malin Edlund (183-88) who scored that evening 20 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Kadidja Andersson (183-80, college: Minnesota) supported her with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Coach Bo Eriksson's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 17 points by forward Elin Ljunggren (184-96) did not help to save the game for Mark Basket. Forward Emma Karamovic (184-96) added 13 points for the guests. Sallen have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Mark Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Alvik Basket. Sallen will play against Akropol (#11) in Spanga in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mark Basket will play at home against Alvik Basket (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
