Regular Season Round 15: Shimane SM - Toyama Grouses 67-78

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Shimane Magic (1-14) lost at home to third ranked Toyama Grouses (11-4) 78-67 on Saturday. Toyama Grouses forced 22 Shimane Magic turnovers. It was a good game for American center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Crosse) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Panamanian forward Jamelle Horne (200-88, college: Arizona) contributed with 17 points for the winners. point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) answered with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Isiah Brown (203-89, college: E.Tenn.St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Shimane Magic. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shimane Magic's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyama Grouses maintains third place with 11-4 record having just two points less than leader Iwate Big Bulls. Shimane Magic lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Toyama Grouses will have a break next round. Shimane Magic will play again at home against Toyama Grouses (#3) and hope to win that game.
