The game between Top Four teams took place in Kildare. Second ranked host Liffey Celtics (5-1) smashed 3rd placed Meteors (3-2) 69-45. Liffey Celtics forced 19 Meteors turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Liffey Celtics made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Shelby Smith (173, college: St.Joseph's) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points. Aine O'Connor helped adding 11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. Four Liffey Celtics players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Christine Ganser (185, college: Holy Cross) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import Katie Ganser (186-90, college: Merrimack) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Liffey Celtics have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-1 record having just -1 point less than leader TM Hotel Cork. Meteors at the other side keep the third position with two games lost. They share it with DCU Mercy. Liffey Celtics are looking forward to face league's leader TM Hotel Cork on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Meteors' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena DCU Mercy.
