Everything could happen in Nagoya at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Dragonflies and 3rd placed Mitsubishi Dolphins had identical 7-3 record. But Mitsubishi Dolphins were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Hiroshima 84-72 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they stormed back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 12 points. Mitsubishi Dolphins were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) who scored 22 points and 7 assists. International power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) produced 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. They have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Dragonflies maintains second place with 8-3 record having just three points less than leader Hitachi SR. Mitsubishi Dolphins at the other side keep the third position with four games lost. Dragonflies will have a break next round. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play again at home against the league's second-placed Dragonflies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
