Rather expected game in Tokyo where 3rd placed Toyota Alvark (7-7) was defeated by first ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (13-1) 87-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-76. Toyota Alvark was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 19 rebounds. Forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitachi Sunrockers have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-1 record. Toyota Alvark lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
