Very important is a road loss of second ranked Chieti (4-5) against eighth ranked Piacentina (2-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Chieti was defeated by Piacentina in Piacenza 70-59. Chieti was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 29-17 charge of Piacentina, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Piacentina outrebounded Chieti 41-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. Lithuanian swingman Paulius Sorokas (200-92) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Rodolfo Rombaldoni (193-77) accounted for 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Andrea Ancellotti (212-88) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Diego Monaldi (184-93, agency: Players Group) added 14 points respectively for Chieti in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Chieti's coach Massimo Galli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Piacentina went down to fifteenth position due to points difference, which they share with Roseto. Chieti at the other side dropped to the ninth place with five games lost.
