There was no surprise in Madrid where 9th ranked UCAM Jairis (1-4) was defeated by fourth ranked CREF Hola (4-1) 91-78 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. CREF Hola dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to UCAM Jairis' 32. CREF Hola forced 19 UCAM Jairis turnovers. The best player for the winners was Portuguese swingman Maria Correia (174-91) who scored 19 points and 8 assists. Guard Esther Moreno (178-85) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Four CREF Hola players scored in double figures. CREF Hola's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Guard Maria V. Sanchez (174-87) produced 15 points and power forward Isabel Perez (188-90) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. CREF Hola moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Dist.Olimpico. Newly promoted UCAM Jairis dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. CREF Hola will face Andratx (#5) in the next round. UCAM Jairis will play against the league's leader Alcobendas (#1) and hope to win that game.
