Regular Season Round 5: Dist.Olimpico - Andratx 86-58

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Andratx (3-2) against fifth ranked Dist.Olimpico (4-1) on Saturday night. Visiting Andratx was crushed by Dist.Olimpico in Madrid 86-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Andratx. The game was mostly controlled by Dist.Olimpico. Andratx managed to win third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dist.Olimpico dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Andratx's 30. Dist.Olimpico forced 19 Andratx turnovers and outrebounded them 47-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Center Celia Menendez (188-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and center Elena Diaz (188-92) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Dist.Olimpico players scored in double figures. Dist.Olimpico's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian power forward Nina Djokovic (184-87, college: Bethel, TN) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and center Nogaye Lo Sylla (192-96) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Dist.Olimpico moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with CREF Hola. Newly promoted Andratx dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Dist.Olimpico will meet Leganes (#6) on the road in the next round. Andratx will play against CREF Hola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
