Regular Season Round 18: Titanicos - Correcaminos 94-86

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Correcaminos (8-10) lost on the road to eleventh ranked Titanicos (6-11) 94-86 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Correcaminos won third quarter 29-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Titanicos dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Correcaminos' 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Correcaminos' players. Senegalese center Babacar Camara (211-81, college: CS Fullerton) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American point guard Glenn Stokes (170-76, college: American) supported him with 16 points and 11 assists. Even 21 points and 8 rebounds by American swingman Kevin Parrom (198-91, college: Arizona) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. His fellow American import forward Kenny Kornowski (205-91, college: Walsh) added 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five Titanicos and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Titanicos maintains eleventh position with 6-11 record. Correcaminos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Titanicos will meet higher ranked Panteras (#10) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Correcaminos will play against Fuerza Regia and hope to secure a win.
