No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Jiangsu Phoenix (6-3) crushed bottom-ranked Whale (1-8) in Sichuan 98-74. The game without a history. Jiangsu Phoenix led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Whale's 34. They outrebounded Whale 38-23 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Yi Qiang (193-94) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds. International point guard Xiaojia Chen (177-88) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Four Jiangsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Siyang Wu (182-91) who recorded 24 points and Filipino-American center Chay Shegog (196-90, college: N.Carolina) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Jiangsu Phoenix moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guangdong. Whale lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with eight games lost.
