Regular Season Round 9: Dijon - Le Havre 72-67
Date: November 22, 2014
Rather predictable result when seventh ranked JDA Dijon (5-4) beat at home 11th ranked STB Le Havre (3-5) 72-67. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 5-point deficit before their 29-19 run, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by STB Le Havre helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Erving Walker (173-90, college: Florida, agency: Two Points) nailed 20 points for the winning side and naturalized Senegalese forward Antoine Mendy (198-83) accounted for 8 points and 6 rebounds. JDA Dijon's coach Jean-Louis Borg allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American-Dominican swingman Ricardo Greer (197-78, college: Pittsburgh) came up with 4 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international Hugo Invernizzi (198-93) added 15 points respectively for STB Le Havre in the defeat. JDA Dijon moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. STB Le Havre at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. JDA Dijon's next round opponent will be JL Bourg (#17) on the road which should be an easy win for them. STB Le Havre will play against Cholet Basket (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
