Regular Season Round 8: Charleville - Monaco 57-90
Date: November 22, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Charleville-Mezieres (1-7) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Monaco (6-1) 90-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Monaco. Charleville-Mezieres was better in third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monaco shot 61.7 percent from the field. Monaco had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds and center Moustapha Fall (218-92) who added 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Monaco players scored in double figures. Ukrainian center Yaroslav Lemyk (204-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Monyea Pratt (195-85, college: Stillman, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Monaco have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Charleville-Mezieres lost fourth consecutive game. Charleville-Mezieres at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Monaco will face Poitiers (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Charleville-Mezieres will play against ALM Evreux (#10) and hope to win that game.
