Regular Season Round 9: Krosno - SKK Siedlce 84-72

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Krosno as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Stal Ostrow) loss. Krosno defeated 13th ranked SKK Siedlce at home 84-72. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Strangely SKK Siedlce outrebounded Krosno 47-27 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Center Dariusz Wyka (209-91) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and Dariusz Oczkowicz (182-81) accounted for 21 points and 4 assists. Krosno's coach Michal Baran allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Lukasz Ratajczak (201-86, agency: Promotex) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Daniel Wall (196-82, agency: Promotex) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for SKK Siedlce in the defeat. Five Krosno and four SKK Siedlce players scored in double figures. Krosno have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Stal Ostrow. Newly promoted SKK Siedlce dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. They share the position with AZS PP and Zaglebie. SKK Siedlce will play next round against Znicz Basket trying to get back on the winning streak. Krosno will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked GKS Tychy on the road.
