Regular Season Round 8: Roanne - Nantes 89-78

Very expected game when 11th ranked Nantes (3-5) was defeated on the road by second ranked Chorale de Roanne (7-1) 89-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Chorale de Roanne. Nantes was better in fourth quarter 25-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chorale de Roanne forced 19 Nantes turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Torrell Martin (196-85, college: Winthrop) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and the other American import forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. American Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) responded with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Mali swingman Souarata Cisse (196-86) scored 14 points. Five Chorale de Roanne and four Nantes players scored in double figures. Nantes' coach Franck Collineau rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chorale de Roanne have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hyeres-Toulon. Nantes at the other side keeps the eleventh place with five games lost. Chorale de Roanne will face Saint-Quentin (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Nantes will play against Fos Ouest and hope to win that game.
