Regular Season Round 15: Iskra Svit - Nitra 100-83

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Iskra Svit (9-6) defeated at home bottom-ranked Nitra (1-14) 100-83 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Iskra Svit. Nitra managed to win fourth quarter 33-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Iskra Svit looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Jozef Vojtek (204-85) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (190-90) chipped in 25 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Justin Ward (203-91, college: Lakeland) who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import point guard Martavious Irving (185-90, college: Kansas St., agency: SDJ Sports) added 18 points respectively. Iskra Svit maintains fourth place with 9-6 record. Nitra lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Iskra Svit will meet Nova Ves (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nitra will play against Prievidza and hope to win that game.
