Very expected game in Rijeka where 7th ranked KK Zabok (3-4) was defeated by third ranked Kvarner (5-2) 93-81. It looked good early as KK Zabok took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kvarner took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 12 points. They made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Kvarner forced 20 KK Zabok turnovers. 30 personal fouls committed by KK Zabok helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Mauro Veljacic (183-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Dino Cinac (201-88, agency: Court Side) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Kvarner players scored in double figures. Center Antonio Vlaic (205-91) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Filip Bundovic (205-94, agency: Octagon Europe) added 23 points in the effort for KK Zabok. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kvarner moved-up to second place, which they share with Alkar Sinj. KK Zabok at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Kvarner's next round opponent will be Ribola Kastela (#5) in Kastela Sucurac. KK Zabok will play at home against Slavonski Brod and hope to win that game.
