Regular Season Round 8: Lille - Boulazac 97-64

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Lille Metropole (3-5) smashed at home higher ranked Boulazac Basket (4-3) 97-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lille Metropole. Boulazac Basket was better in fourth quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lille Metropole dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Boulazac Basket's 30. Lille Metropole looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Boulazac Basket's players. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Thomas Ceci-Diop (199-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American power forward James Mathis (200-84, college: Niagara, agency: Court Side) who added 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. Lille Metropole's coach Cedric Binauld felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. British forward Ovie Soko (201-91, college: Duquesne) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Nigerian forward Dinma Odiakosa (203-85, college: Illinois St., agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 14 points. Lille Metropole moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with St Quentin and Nantes. Boulazac Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with three games lost. Lille Metropole will face Angers BC (#17) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
