Regular Season Round 9: Rapla - TU/Rock 64-87

The game between Top Four teams took place in Rapla. 4th placed host TYCO Rapla (5-4) was smashed by first ranked TU/Rock (8-5) 87-64. The game was mostly controlled by TU/Rock. TYCO Rapla managed to win third quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. TU/Rock outrebounded TYCO Rapla 37-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. International Gert Dorbek (193-85) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and the former international point guard Tanel Sokk (182-85) chipped in 16 points. TU/Rock's coach Gert Kullamae felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Slovenian center Ziga Fifolt (211-93) with 16 points and Lithuanian point guard Ernestas Ezerskis (192-87) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TU/Rock have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-5 record. TYCO Rapla lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. TU/Rock are looking forward to face league's second-placed BC Rakvere at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TYCO Rapla will have a break next round.
