Regular Season Round 10: Gornik - Miedzychod 70-63

There was no surprise in Walbrzych where 5th ranked Miedzychod (4-5) was defeated by top-ranked Gornik (9-0) 70-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-63. Rafal Niesobski (189-82) scored 29 points to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Piotr Niedzwiedzki (211-93) chipped in 7 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side swingman Filip Dylik (190-90) responded with 12 points and swingman Jakub Nowak (188-89) scored 12 points and 5 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gornik have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Newly promoted Gornik maintains first position in Group D with 9-0 record. Miedzychod at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Gornik will face Kalisz (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Miedzychod will play against the league's second-placed Nysa Klodzko and hope to win that game.
