There was no surprise when 9th ranked Universidad de Valladolid (1-4) was crushed on the road by third ranked Arxil Pontevedra (4-1) 74-55 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Arxil Pontevedra. Universidad de Valladolid was better in third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arxil Pontevedra dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Universidad de Valladolid's 36. Arxil Pontevedra forced 20 Universidad de Valladolid turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Fallon Lewis (183, college: Wyoming) who scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Maria Lago chipped in 23 points.
